The world turns and the dragon catches its own tail. Jan Xu, now alpha and leader of the Xu clan, faces more challenges when a past misadventure rears its head and threatens to tear her life apart. Added to this is a revelation about her role in her pack, which can make or break her, or potentially help her defeat an old foe, if she managed to hold onto her sanity. Desperate to protect her family as her world turns obsidian, Jan is thrust in the midst of conflict between vampire, wolf, dragon and Singapore’s Myriad. What can one do when the past won’t let go?

I wasn't sure about this one at some points, but I ended up being swept away again by the story. A softer and another echo of the first, it deals directly with the consequences and dives deep into the effects of events on Jan. I ended up crying over the ending, which was excellent. This is more of a character study of a novel, very psychological. I can't wait to see where things will go next. Definitely worth a read, and you will be as excited as I an about where the story will go after this. though I would kill for a prequel next!
